Well Done Chris Monroe-Crump
Last night was the annual STEP awards.

A&K Printing Ltd is proud to announce the success of their STEP Student in being awarded the runner-up prize for his Information technology project in the Essex awards. The student, Christopher Monroe-Crump, from the University of Essex was awarded the prize for his project on the implementation of a quote system and product database for use in our office.

At the awards ceremony held at the Waterfront Restaurant in Chelmsford on the 27th of August, Chris was awarded a certificate and a novelty over-sized comedy cheque for £50. He will have fun carrying that to the bank !

A&K Printing Ltd has participated in the Shell Technology Enterprise Programme for the last three years and has been impressed with the quality of projects carried out by the students that have been placed with them. I am an ex-STEP student myself, and not only has it basically given me this job, it also taught me valuable skills needed for the workplace.

Hopefully Chris's quote system will be tested this month, and should be of benefit for customers and staff when the ease of complex quotes for printed items has been improved.

A&K Printing Ltd is grateful for Chris’s hard work and wishes him every success in the future.

We took on another student, Stacy Wooten, who has worked hard with a website she has made. The images have not all been completed yet, but once the site is online I shall mention it here.

New Promotional Coasters
Printed Coasters U.K.

The coaster section has been updated to show two new printed coasters, the liquid filled coaster and the heat reveal coaster. Both of these offer a modern twist to promotional coasters with the heat reveal coaster changing colour when a hot drink is placed on it. The liquid filled coaster has two non-mixing coloured liquids inside (different colours are available), which offer stress relief and will be sure to attract attention to your logo.

Brite Mat MouseMat: ideal for your promotion
Brite Mat Promotional Mousemat

I have been using a brite-mat sample myself for a good few months, it is a good quality mousemat. I use an optical mouse with it and have had no problems at all. Due to the hardwearing plastic cover, the print does not rub off at all. All it needs is a wipe over now and then with a damp cloth to clean it. It is a euro 2004 design with a full colour photo of david beckham and emile heskey, which shows the quality that can be reproduced on this mat. I cannot really fault this mat for its usefulness, and recommend them for use in any business or for promotional purposes.

Printed Mug Update
AK Printing - Promotional Printed Mugs

I have updated the mug pages to show a better selection of the mugs we are able to print. One of the most interesting mugs to use as a promotional tool is the WoWmug. This mug has a heat sensitive coating which dissappears when hot water has been added - thus revealing your full colour logo. You have to admit this is one cool promotional mug ! I may even replace my old hulk hogan mug with one of these. The cheapest printed mug available is the durham earthenware, which is available from £1.53 printed one colour. For a full colour printed mug, the 'photomug' is ideal and features include being dishwasher safe.

More promotional pens added
Promotional pens, personalised for your business

Many of the pens available have been added to our promotional pens page. Pens are still a fantastic promotional item, and with the range we have you are sure to find the ideal pen for your promotion. The range includes printed parker pens, which are now available in quantities as low as 50. The recycled pen range includes pens made from recycled paper, and recycled plastic vending cups. We also stock many express pens, which are pens which have an optional short lead time of 5 days, an example being the very popular Dynamite ballpen. The capped pens page has also been updated to show some of the newer pens, including the cheap Adverstick pens. We hope this improvement gives you more choice when selecting the right pen for your promotion.
