Event Marketing

Event marketing is becoming a popular form of subtle marketing techniques. Companies are using events as advertising tools to promote their products and services. Events are a part of the marketing mix strategy for some companies. Events have become as popular as traditional tools of advertising and more and more companies are adopting these tools.

Event marketing provides a hands-on, tangible experience for consumers by bringing them into an immersive environment and both subliminally and consciously giving the delegates messages about the products and services. It brings products directly to the delegates, and is more targeted by specifically reaching a smaller audience with a more personal, customized message. Allowing consumers to try products out at trade shows, sporting events, and concerts is a way to break through the cluttered landscape of brands today.

A company's main aim is to increase its sales and it does this by bringing its services directly to the customers. In a store, you might sell some products incidentally to people looking for something else. But it makes a lot of difference when the person gets to try out the product or even receive a sample of it at various events. This is because experiential marketing has lot of scope in today's society as it gives the customer a direct opportunity to try out something new and accept it only when he likes it.

And not only can events help a company to pitch to a new audience, event can also help to solidify a relationship with an existing customer. Free entry to such an event is often touted to an existing customer, if they might be able to gain a benefit from attending such an event. Knowing that they are more than likely to speak with your company about your products and service while in attendance is the key driver here.

Event marketing is a popular tool because it works on the premise of giving the actual experience of touch and try, and experiences are what stay in people's memory. The demonstration of the product at the events should be such that has maximum audience involvement and interaction, so that people remember and recall your product later at the time of buying also.

Popularity of event marketing is increasing by the day and more companies are adopting it as a favored marketing tool that it is taken up as a specialist career profession. Courses are being offered at universities and colleges where candidates learn skills to host and execute events of all sizes and types. Because of this increasing popularity of event marketing, many companies and big businesses are employing professionals with formal education in the field.
